This tank will initially serve as transition home for the fish and plants from Akv. 9 during Our moving to a new home. It is situated in Our new house, ready to receive the fish and plants before the necessary decomision of their old home. Since it is only meant as a temporary setup, nothing is done to make it look decorative.
Fish and plants have arrived and seems to be OK. To compensate for the short start period, I have added a dose of Easylife filterstart.
Some of the fish and plants are moved to Akv. 9. The remaining fish and plants will stay until Akv. 11 is ready.
All plants and all fish except 6 surplus Geophagus sp. "Tapajos redhead" and a large Ancistrus male, has been moved to either Akv 9 or Akv 11.
The last remaining fish have been removed, and the Tank will be emptied, so that it can be moved 5 cm. out from the wall it is standing next to.
The tank has now been emptied, moved and filled again. The substrate was washed and used again. Some old roots are placed in the tank, but it does not look good.
Plants and a large root are introduced to the setup. It still does not look great, but the plants are mostly selected for their reputedly speedy growth, more than their decorative traits. Hopefully they will be able to outcompete the algae already present in the tank.
The first fish; 10 Puntius nigrofasciatus and 5 Macrognathus pancalus are introduced. Also 2 Crossocheilus reticulatus are placed here, to combat the hair algae already spreading on the leaves of the plants.
New fish: 20 Danio kyathit and 10 Rasbora kalochroma. The two Crossocheilus reticulatus are doing a fine job. No evidence of hair algae is present in the tank.
The 10 Rasbora kalochroma has been reduced to 6. Apparently they do not agree with the very lively tankmates. They have been moved to Akv. 11
