Images from various setups in Aquarium 2 (720 liter)

24/10 2005 Tanganyika aquarium.
The seup is brand-new. The decoration is Back-to-Nature modules, glued to the back-glass and bottom. The bush is Cryptocoryne wendtii that was planted in a flat bowl, camouflaged by a heap of rubble.
The fish are Tropheus moorii (Ilangi) and Tropheus sp. "black" (Bulu point)

26/9 2006 Tanganyika aquarium.
The fish are Paracyprichromis nigripinnis.

7/2 2007 Malawi aquarium.
The fish are Protomelas sp. "steveni Taiwan" (Higga reef), Placidochromis electra (Londo), Lethrinops cf. albus (Itungi) and Labidochromis caeruleus.
The beautiful algae growth on the rocks, is the result of a combination of the fish` activities and direct sunlight..

19/3 2007 Malawi aquarium.
The decoration has just been renewed, so consequently a lot of the rocks look very "fresh". The Haplochromines have been replaced by Mbuna, which a few days after this image was shot, had stripped all the beatiful hair algae from the rocks, leaving them barely green. The fish are Labidochromis caeruleus, Maylandia emmiltos and Labeotropheus fuelleborni.

Tanganyika aquarium.
The tank is stocked exclusively with Tropheus sp. "black" (Bemba).
As evident, every rock is completely covered in green algae, a sure sign of a tank that has been running undisturbed for a while.  The decoration offers ample opportunities for fry to hide in, and a lot of juveniles grow up in the tank. This has a disadvantage built in; every now and then, the whole decoration has to be removed, in order to cull the stock. The tank was awarded "Tank of the month" November 2007 at
www.cichlid-forum.com.

Community tank.
Totally new decoration, so the plants does not look very good. All rocks from previous arrangements are removed, and replaced with a couple of large roots. The fish are Pterophyllum scalare (Rio manacapuru)

1/4 2008
Plants and fish are growing...

26/4 2008

A school of Hemigrammus bleheri has been added.

19/5 2008

The right side of the tank is fairly poorly lit(left side gets light from a window) so it is not easy to make plants grow, resulting in a good deal of exchanges in the plants here.

23/11 2008
The plants in the foreground (an Echinodorus sp.) has evolved into a tangle of leaves, stalks and roots, and can only be culled by dragging random lumps off now and then...

3/6 2009

As evident from the pictures, the tank has matured thoroughly and the fish grown to adult size.
