After a prolonged pause, cause by the moving to a new home, it is time
for an update!
The Marine tank will not be reestablished, and there will not be another
marine tank in the foreseeable future, so that part of the site will be
heavily cut back from the front page, as there will be no activity there.
A link will however, still lead to the already existing material.
The freshwater tank is reestablished, and another one has already been
added, with yet another one acquired but not active. The plan is to,
over time, run seven tanks, so that there will be a 900L (already
running), a 720L (acquired but not active), a 576L (already running),
two 288L and two 228L. The last four tanks are not acquired yet, but
space is made available in the two custom built stands.
With several active freshwater tanks, the term "the freshwater tank"
used for the 900L tank, is no longer practical, so it has been renamed
"Aquarium 9", which is the logical extension to the number system I
previously have used, when I had more than one tank active. The 576L
aquarium has thus been named Aquarium 10, the 720L aquarium will be
Aquarium 11 and so forth,..

The recent reconstruction, completed ultimo May, has received a mixed
welcome. The complaints have mainly been centered around the new
background, which is generally found to be good for image galleries, but
too dark for pages with mainly text. Especially the idea of light grey
text on black have been found less than satisfactorily (to say the least!)
in text-heavy articles.
I have taken the critisism to heart, and abandoned the strict "single
background for everything" design in favour of a series of different
designs adapted for galleries, text or mixed pages. I have also
increased the size of sll pages to a little more than 1600 pixels,
hopefully alleviating another point of complaint, namely the reduced
size of pictures. They are now back to original size, with all new
gallery images 1100 pixels wide. This should enable readers with big
screens to enjoy these to full advantage, while readers with smaller
monitors can use the zoom-function (read
HERE). In order to help
this group of readers, the text-size have been increased considerably. |

Finally the reconstruction is completely finished! There have even been
time to update the
monthly galleries from the marine tank, and reestablish the
cat galleries. The
latter are the first in a series of theme galleries, which will cover a
wide variety of motives. |

The Site is still under reconstruction, but the general layout is set,
and a general strategy for
navigating the
site has been selected. The new look is now implemented for all
pages dealing with aquaristics (if I have missed any, I would really
like to know about it!), so now only the Photpgraphy section needs to be
redone. |

The Freshwater section is "finished". There will
off course come regular updates to the active tanks, specifically more
detailed descriptions with illustrations of their technical
installations, and more articles will also be written. First I have to
finish the revised construction of the site though; Now the turn has
come to the last section, which will be "Photography", dealing with
general photo technique, and showing some galleries with images I find
passable. There will also be written articles to this section. |

Lige nu er artsgallerierne i ferskvandssektionen ved at blive revideret.
Der bliver fjernet en del billeder (lad os være realistiske og indse, at
der er begrænsninger for, hvor mange billeder man gider at se af en
fisk) og de tilbageværende billeder bliver lagt i fuld størrelse,
direkte i galleriet, så man ikke behøver at klikke så mange gange for at
se dem. Der er rigtig mange billeder (over 1000) så dette kommer til at
tage noget tid...
Right now the species galleries in the Freshwater
section are being revised. A lot of images will be removed (let`s face
it, there are limitaitions to the number of pictures Anyone will bother
to look at, of the same fish). The remaining pictures will then be
inserted in full size to the gallery, so they can be viewed together,
with fewer clicks. There are a lot of pictures (1000+) so it will take
some time... |

Den nye Ferskvandssektion er ved at tage form. Der er meget materiale,
så det kommer til at tage tid, før den bliver færdig, men
akvarieinformationerne til de 3 aktive ferskvandsakvarier er klar, og
alle links på forsiden virker. Der er stadig mange "gamle sider" (som
kan genkendes på deres grå baggrund, og mindre skrifttyper), og
navigationen kan godt blive lidt besværlig, da det ikke kan udelukkes at
nogle links peger på sider der er nedlagt, så brug af frem/tilbage
pilene kan anbefales!
The new Freshwater section is shapingup. There is
a lot of material, so it will take some time to finish it, but the tank
information to the 3 active freshwater tanks are all set, as is all
links from the front page. There is still a lot of old pages (recognizable
by their grey background and smaller fonts), and navigation may not be
without glitches, so I recommend using the forward/back buttons! |

ikke så meget materiale endnu, da mit engagement i saltvand (denne
gang), kun er ca. 4 mdr. gammelt, men det er den del af siden, som må
forventes at have størst aktivitet i den kommende tid, så kig forbi!

section is ready! There is not too much material right now, since My
engagement in marine tanks (this time) is only 4 months old, but it is
the part of the site, that is expected to have the most activity, so
stay tuned! |

Det første
resultat af ombygningen er synligt. Alt saltvandsrelateret materiale, er
nu flyttet til en sektion for sig selv. Med tiden vil også
ferskvandsakvaristerne få deres egen sektion, og de resterende
fotogallerier, sammen med generel fotorelateret materiale, vil få en
tredje sektion, således at hovedsiden kun fungerer som portal for de
nævnte interesseområder. Forhåbentlig vil det gøre det lettere at finde
frem til det ønskede materiale, hurtigere end idag.
The first result of the restructuring is
visible. All marine related material has now been moved to a section of
it`s own. In time, also the freshwater material will get a section of
it`s own, and the rest of the galleries, along with any general
photorelated material, will have a third section, so that the Main index
page only will serve as a portal for the mentioned areas of interest.
Hopefully this will make the site easier to navigate, and make it faster
to reach Your material of interest. |

Der foregår en del
omstruktureringer på siden i øjeblikket. Indtil videre er der ikke de
store synlige forandringer, men i løbet af den nærmeste fremtid, vil
siden blive delt op i interesseområder (Saltvandsakvarium,
Ferskvandsakvarier, generel fotografering). Det skulle gerne gøre det
lettere at finde frem til det man er interesseret i, og overskue de
efterhånden mange muligheder. Under ombygningen, kan der
forekomme perioder, hvor dele af siden ikke virker efter hensigten!
There is a lot of restructuring of the site going on right now. Not much
is visible yet, but sometime in the near future, the site will be split
up in various areas of interests (Marine aquarium, Freshwater aquariums,
General photography). This will hopefully make it easier to find the
area of interest, and get to the many options.
During the
restructuring, periods of malfunctions at parts of the site may appear! |
